Day Three

I couldn't get to sleep last night until almost two, so I finally gave in and took some Aleve for my back and legs. That is one of the reasons why I'm doing this detox, is to see if the inflammation is impacted by the gluten. I also have an MRI that is going to be scheduled soon because nothing is getting better.

Once I woke up this morning, I felt fantastic but not hungry. I made myself eat a handful of almonds when I went out the door to go pick the boys up from shangri la, but I didn't eat anything substantial until almost two, when I had a hibiscus kombucha, a few pieces of cheese and some almonds before my chiropractor appointment. I was a little bit hungry but it kept coming and going. No low grade headache like yesterday, but that was probably still due to the Aleve.

Before going out to meet my friend at a local bar for a beer release, I mixed up a bunch of ground beef, ground lamb, and spices for meatballs but I didn't have time to bake them. I had a few pieces of bacon, and then cooked two little burgers in the same pan and had half an avocado.

At the bar, I had hot tea, water, and one sip of my friend's beer. I don't like beer at all, but I had wanted to taste this one. Hardly going to make me fall off of the wagon.

Then I simply wasn't hungry until 10:30 when all of a sudden after not really being hungry since I ate before going to the airport yesterday, I was STARVING. I plowed my way through a bag of pistachios (actually, not that weird) and had a green apple with melted Emmentaler. At least, I tried to melt it, but it didn't want to cooperate so I ate it anyway. Also, somehow, 2/3 of the container of olives I just got today from Whole Foods has mysteriously disappeared...

I blame the cat.

Good thing I need to go back tomorrow for buy one get one free kombucha. I've tried them before and liked them, but I loved the hibiscus one I had today.

I seriously need to eat more vegetables tomorrow. And drink more. I'm so bad about drinking.

Three down, 28 to go!
