Day One

I stumbled across the 21 DSD last night. It seemed like a fantastic way to kick off the new year and take my food plan to the next step. Small problem, however. I am currently at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi visiting my boyfriend for the new year. I have no access to a kitchen, I refuse to microwave food, and eating out is very expensive. I hadn't mentally prepared for this at all, but am doing it anyway (as usual).

So far so good. We drove around for a while today trying to find a place for lunch that had something I could eat and was open New Years Day. We wound up at Ruby Tuesday, which was fantastic. Three little chicken breasts, broccoli, and spaghetti squash, with Earl Grey tea and Saratoga sparkling water. There were signs up all around the barracks saying not to drink any of the tap water without boiling it first. Not sure what's going on, but I didn't want to take any chances. Boyfriend was having strawberry lemonade and wasn't bothered by it. He also very thoughtfully finished off all of the Krispy Kreme donuts that were left over this morning too. He's so sweet about taking one for the team.

For whatever reason, he decided that he wanted donuts and two bowls of cereal for dinner, so I got to get take out from Outback Steakhouse all for myself, yay! Of course, when they put bread in the takeout bag, I had a very willing disposal service. And, I have salad, prime rib, green beans, and broccoli leftover for tomorrow too.

Both fortunately and unfortunately I fly out tomorrow evening. I'm going to miss the boyfriend a LOT (not going to see him until February 1st) and am not sure about how I'm going to eat at the airport while being good and staying on track, but I am looking forward to having my kitchen again and seeing our dog and cat.

One down, thirty to go.
